Yummy

It amazes me the things Eli can shove into his mouth - toys of all shapes and sizes. Here is one of his favorite toys that he likes to shove in his mouth, and then crawl around with it hanging out.
His taste isn't limited to toys either. He loves toes - not only his own, but others too. Isaac and I are constantly on the watch if our shoes are off, because Eli loves to crawl over and shove our toes in his mouth. Recently, when we go on walks, he's started ignoring his toys, and just pulls his leg up and shoves his toe into his mouth the whole time.

Number 125

Last Saterday Isaac and I got a babysitter and had plans to go see a movie. We were late and missed the movie, so instead we went to Borders and looked around. I love Borders and their beautifully displayed books. We left an hour later with a list of books we wanted to check out from the local library. As much as I love buying books, Isaac and I are devoted library go-ers. It saves us space (which is nice when you don't have a lot of space), saves us money, and saves us the horrible experience of buying a book, only to read it and realize you don't like it and are now stuck it. On our list, we each had 1 book we really wanted to check out (and after a 1/2 an hour of sitting at Borders reading the first chapters, we were both really excited to continue to books). I went today to try and check them out. Isaac's book has a waiting list of 14 people. He complained about having to wait that long until I looked up the book I wanted (Stephanie Meyer's new book). The book I wanted had a waiting list of 124 - I was 125 on the list. 125! Seriously!?! So disappointed. So, sometime next year I should be reading my book. At least, thanks to Borders, I have a list of other books to read while I am waiting.

You Know It's Too Hot When. . .

When my friend Courtney was making the move from Mesa to Oregon, she asked me why anyone would want to live in a state that is over 100 degrees for over 120 days of the year. Good question. Yet, a year later, here we still are. It's early May and the weather is in the 90's and it's only getting hotter.
The above picture is the new product I just bought. Did you know that in this Arizona heat, your car can heat up to over 185 degrees? Pretty miserable, especially for the baby. Some Az. mom invented this product to protect her baby, and now their all over the valley. It is basically a quilt that has pockets in it. You shove enormous ice blocks in the pockets, put it on the car seat while you are out, and it keeps the car seat cool and keeps the metal buckles from burning the baby.
You know you live somewhere too hot when you have to tote around a car seat cooler with you on the daily basis. Only 120 days left. . .

My boys

Eli is such a daddy's boy. All he says is 'dada', 'daddy', or 'dad'. Nothing that even remotely sounds like mom. And if Isaac is home, he will smile just watching him walk around the house. He could care less about me so far, unless I have food to offer. But Isaac just has to walk in the door, and he is laughing. Go figure. Anyway, here are some new pics of my guys. Eli is completely against cuddling, and has been since he was born. However, if he is in a mellow mood, he will allow you to put him in his lap and will sit there for a few minutes. If you try any monkey business, like trying to cuddle or kiss him, he is out of there in a flash, screaming and giving you dirty looks. Eli consenting to be held.

His favorite toy - the computer. We try to keep him as far away from it as possible. We're afraid that his excessive amounts of drool will drown the computer and stop it from working.
