This week we went to the Cardiologist in Tucson. We've had to see the Cardiologist with the Children's Rehabilitation Clinic in Phoenix because of our insurance and had a really bad experience. I wasn't looking forward to using the CRS clinic in Tucson because of our experience in Phoenix, but Isabelle's PT kept telling me the CRS clinic here was very different from the CRS clinic in Phoenix. And she was so right! The clinic had pet therapy dogs going around to the waiting rooms to play with the kids waiting. The wait was normal, as opposed to hours after your scheduled appointments. They had a child specialist there to distract the kids during tests, which was wonderful when she had to get her ECHO and they said in the cooler months they had therapy horses there for the kids!
Besides just liking the clinic so much more, we were surprised with good news. Despite doctors telling us it wouldn't happen, the hole in Isabelle's heart has healed itself! We've been hearing for so long that it would eventually need surgery and to hear that it was healed made me so happy I cried. The surprising news was that they found a second hole in her heart, but it is so small that it shouldn't affect her health and we don't have to go back to the cardiologist for (hold onto your pants!) 3 years! 3 years! Yes, I cried again! When you average about 20-25 appointments a month, crossing 1 doctor off the list is a miracle. Way to go Isabelle! It's so nice to get good news.
And the kids got a package from Nanny and Pops. Despite it being 95 degrees out, Eli insisted they wear the Halloween Jammies Nanny sent.
