Summer Came and Went

I know I have been horrible about keeping up with this blog, which is very obvious to me every time I look and notice that my wallpaper is still from Christmas.  And when I think about changing it, I just decide to keep it up until next Christmas.  But it is back to good intentions and I am going to try to add some stuff from our crazy summer.  Now is the perfect time to add some posts, while we spend our evenings watching the Olympics.
So here are a few pictures from June, when we were around town.  We did do a fun family trip to California, but I'll do a separate post for that.  Here is pictures of us trying to keep the kids entertained during the summer and in our new house (more on that soon too!).
Eli and Isabelle went with  my mom's group to tour the fire station in town.  It was Eli's dream trip and he ran from truck to truck, tried on Firemen clothes, toured their station and loved every second.  Isabelle, I honestly have to say, was much more in love with the firemen and was a shameless flirt.
The first night in our new house (we moved in May - you can see the boxes in the background) and Eli caught a lady bug and let her crawl on him, which he thought was so cool that he had to call his grandma and tell her about it.
Trampoline in the sprinklers and our new backyard
For the first month in the new house, every night Eli was sneaking out of his room and sleeping on the tile in the kitchen.  Not sure why, but it was always a surprise to wake up around 2 AM and realize that the kitchen lights are on and Eli is lying on the floor.
And we finally got Isabelle's therapy swing hooked up.  Of course, Eli loves it way more than Isabelle.  For Izzy it is work.  For Eli it is his chance to be Tarzan on the daily basis.
Ok, more to come sometime in the near future, I promise!

A Night On The Farm

Eli's preschool teacher invited her students and their families up to her house for an end of the year picnic.  Her house had horses, chickens, cows and more.  Eli was in heaven!  It was a great night.  I really didn't want to go, I had a bad headache and we were in the middle of moving (more on that later, but we're in a new house and I love it!).  But I'm so glad I took some migraine meds and got in that car, because we had so much fun and it has been a stressful month, so some fun was much needed.

Eli and his great teacher, Ms. Bonnie, checking out the cows
Isabelle found some ways to have fun too!

All the kids got to go on little horse rides, which Eli loved.
 Izzy got a turn too
7 p.m. - bedtime.  Sister does not do well staying up late!
Petting the chickens.  And they got to each take home a chicken egg - which Eli promptly broke while trying to swing and hold a chicken egg at the same time.

Baby's Got the Blues

So Isabelle has been a little blue lately - literally.  She's been turning blue on her arms, legs and lips.  Which is a little scary, because generally, it's not good to be blue.  Not really sure what's going on, but it's been bad enough that we've been in the ER and are scheduled to see cardiology again in a few weeks.  Her pediatrician thinks maybe it has something to do with bad circulation due to her Kabuki Syndrome.  We don't really know and there isn't much info out there about Kabuki, so there isn't much to go on.  It has never happened before though, so it's concerning.  Hopefully we'll be able to figure it out.  In the meantime, she's just as fun and cute as always.

The Month Of April

I'm so behind on this blog and have lost a lot of motivation to write and keep this up.  Trying to decide if it is even worth continuing.  I wonder if anyone is even reading anymore.  We are so busy right now, we are moving to a new home in Sierra Vista, have summer trips planned, need to figure out next year for Eli and am overwhelmed by my to-do list.  So I'm just throwing up some pictures today and telling you a little about what's been going on here:
 Lots of dress-up
 Coloring Easter eggs
 Eating Popsicles outside
 Playing on the hammock

Playing with their hats from their Easter baskets

Looking great in their Easter outfits
 My little family

 Easter egg hunts

The Month of March

March came and went with hopefully what is the last of the cold and flu season - fingers crossed.  Our good news is that we went to Mesa for spring break and Isabelle had a swallow study.  For the first time she didn't aspirate on any of the liquids!  So we are weaning her off of the thickening gel we have to put in everything she drinks and if she doesn't get sick in the next 6 weeks than we can completely take her off!  Woohoo!  One less thing to worry about and Isabelle can stop trying to steal other kids sippie cups because the liquids come out so much easier!  Baby Girl keeps getting stronger and stronger!  And she's climbing now, onto the couch and kitchen table.  This worries me because her muscle tone is so low, if she falls off I'm afraid she will really hurt herself, so I get a little paranoid.  But we're excited to see her doing new things.

Eli had a big month of excitement, mostly going to the dentist to get his cavities filled and ending up with a swollen lip the size of a baseball.  It was really enormous and the poor guy was in a lot of pain.

Here's some of my favorite pictures of the month:

Isabelle's new car - she has gotten tired of the stroller and isn't ready for a bike, so this little push car has become her favorite new thing.

One of the most exciting parts of the month was when we got snow.  For most of a whole day, on and off, it snowed!  I've lived here 7 years and never had it snow before!  It didn't stick, but it was enough that the kids had lots of fun running around in it.
